The type of therapy I offer is intensive and seeks to provide the patient with the tools to understand their pattern of behavior, decrease emotional distress, manage conflict, and adopt realistic expectations for themselves and others.
I believe that the number one curative factor in psychotherapy is the relationship between the therapist and the patient. My role is to be mindful of the patient's tolerance for distress so as to keep therapy moving forward while not creating an intolerable amount of stress.
My graduate work included Psychodynamic and Neuropsychological training. I have also received training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I am a certified EMDR Therapist and HeartMath Certified Practitioner. I use one or more of these approaches to help all patients depending on their needs and when appropriate.
